I’ve been waiting on these girls to finally all be laying, and this girl here will be the only white egg layer. Surprise! They’re tan. She’s a hoot and we love her regardless, but this is not what I expected. Then I got to looking around and none of the California Whites I’ve seen online have her leg color.

I think I’ve heard of CW laying tan instead of white. But idk. Dark legs isn’t unheard of.

Ya I'd say austra white. Ive seen them from cackle with dark shanks. Plus they do lay a light brown egg.
There would be no reason for a california white to have dark shanks or lay brown eggs.

They are supposed to lay white or cream.

Everything I see says white. My old ones laid white and I expect my new ones will too.
