California white lay white eggs, don’t they?
So far I’ve only gotten different shades of brown eggs from my new pullets. I’m not sure who all is laying, but most look like they could be based off squatting and comb color/size.
This afternoon I heard squawking and went to see who might be laying an egg. To my surprise the California white was the only one laying down inside. She got up and left so I went back to look and this is what I found🤔

I know she didn’t lay two eggs. Since they are both about the same size and color should I assume they are more likely from my other hens and she just found them and decided to lay on them? I can’t imagine she’d lay eggs this color, right?

Huh. Maybe you just got a poor strain
Maybe... she was a pick up from a farm store. I believe they order through Hoover.
Maybe your California White didn’t lay an egg and was just “playing” in the nesting box... :idunno

Watching thread - would love updates.
That is my thinking as well, but thought I’d see if it’s possible that she’s been laying brown eggs. She looks and acts ready to lay, but no white eggs yet.
