Call duck, black Swedish cross! Watch them grow!

Hello! So I’ve seen a few posts about what a call duck and regular size duck cross would look like. I hatched just that! The mother is a chocolate pied call duck named Pancake and the father is a black Swedish named Chicken. (This breeding was not intended and will not be happening again!) Two babies just hatched and I will post pictures as they grow for anyone wants to follow along!

Adorable! I wonder how big they'll get?

I had a full size rooster that would stand over the top of one of my bantam chickens and they in fact made fertile eggs and I hatched a couple. They were bigger than the bantams but much smaller than my rooster even three were full grown. Too funnya

I actually have a male call duck who's got a full size girlfriend. Believe it or not I think he can get the job done after many years of practice. I may throw an egg in just to see if she ever starts playing again. She's an old gal.

Thanks! I’m wondering that too! The drake is the biggest duck I own. I have a feeling they’ll be medium sized. Not huge but not small. They hatched three days early! I’m lucky I candled them and saw they had both internally piped so I could put them into lock down. I just got some bantams and they are my only unsexed chicks. I’m hoping I’ll have I little rooster! That would sure would make me laugh! Drakes are very vigorous! Im sure he could get the job done if he wanted to! Every now and then my call drake will be interested in a big girl and she doesn’t even seem to notice him biting her neck!
