Ok...so I have my 2 remaining snowy calls and I think they are a pair....one of them usually makes a "whispery" quack....but he can let out a loud one.....is that normal, or do I have an odd hen???... We are planning on getting a few more...but I need to know if I need to get a drake or if I can just get hens! Also, at what age does the curly drake feather appear?

thanks!

Aflak has slightly curled feathers already.

Sow a picture or two of your duckies.

pekin drakes can do that too and it depends on the duck i have a harlequin drake thats curling but i have a drake that is a 1 1/2 that really doesnt curl but sounds like a drake but need pics to confirm

like I said, I will try to get pics tomorrow

but in the meantime...both of them seem to have very flat tail feathers. They both have light colored heads with off white and dark flecking...but the "drake" has no real brown to the head....just the off white and black (or close to black) flecking....the definite hen has brown and off white flecking.

Ok smarty pants ... you caught my typo ...lol

I meant show

SO WHERE ARE THE PICS ? ........LOL

And how are you going to sell me a little girl, in the spring. if you might not have a drake? ....lol

The bird in question...
that is a pretty typical sound for this one....it can let out a good quack....but not very frequently. You can hear the definite hen in the background.

Is that a drake curl I spot in the first picture under the wing tips?

It's hard to see, but I think there is a small black drake curl in that first pic under the wing tips.

Added a pic:
