Hi everyone, I usually show up in times of stress and here I am again... I have 7, 1 - 2 year old ducks, and they are outside foraging in the yard, no issues with those cuties. A week ago I picked up 3, week old khaki Campbells. On Saturday I was gifted a day old Call duckling, hmmmm, sounds great doesn’t it? And it is! But... the khakis want nothing to do with the call, well, except peck it. I currently have them in a divided stock tank, they can see each other, but not hurt the Call. I often find them laying together on opposite sides of the divider, which is encouraging to me, but so far any attempt to put them together results in pecking and peeping. And 2 week old khakis compared to a 3 day old Call look like giants!
Will they eventually be able to coexist? It makes me feel so bad to see that little Call all alone. Also, although I have been googling like crazy, is there anything different I should be doing for the Call than I do for the khakis? I know that Calls can fly and will need to have its wings clipped in the future. It looks to me like the food, snacks and basic needs are the same. Am I missing something I desperately need to know? Any advice for me, regarding this situation and Calls in general?
