Call Ducks... So many questions

I love having ducks. I have had them for the past 4 years. When I started I quickly realized drakes were not for us. Very violent and stressed us all out. I've been wanting little Call Ducks though. Wondering if they have the same temperament as a standard size duck. Also, where can you get Call ducks? Seems limited. I thought about getting hatching eggs, what's that process like?

From the call ducks I have, the females have much bigger personalities. The young females have been very feisty and have had zero fear taking on my biggest ducks. I still remember one of my little girls jumping at my big muscovy drake and running off like an immature little child . They did can down as they aged. But most of my big ducks don't try to mess with these little guys.

My call duck drakes have been really good drakes so far. They take care of their girls and look out for them. One of my call drakes is likely the only one that would go head on with a predator to save his girls.

But that has just been my experience with them compared to my other ducks

Metzer does sell call ducks now. You will unlikely be able to only get females. Most sellers will require the sale of a drake with a female. The same risk obviously comes with ducklings or hatching. Call ducks are one of the more difficult eggs to hatch, so that is something to consider too.
