Call eggs arrived today, Need help figuring out if air sacks are intac

I recieved my eggs from Duckluck today (Yay), and she did a wonderful job packaging. No breaks/no cracks. She told me to candle and look to see if the air sacks were intact, and gave me a good explaination, but now that I am looking at them I am unsure. Is it normal to see the air sack rotate/move when the egg is rotated? Not all the way to the other end or anything, just around the top and down the side a bit. I tried to compare it to my chicken eggs, but as they are all refriderated, I wasn't sure if they would be a good comparison. Maybe I should try to get some pics. Any help would be great. All of the eggs are the same which leaves me hopeful and very worried all at the same time.

If the air cell is detached, then while candling, moving the egg horizontally will cause the air cell to move from the end of the egg to the middle.

One reason why people say to rest shipped eggs before incubating is because of the airsacs. No they shouldnt be moving - but transport sure knocks them around a lot. I found it happened to about 80% of the eggs I got last year- to varying degrees. I actually marked the edges of the airsac before putting them in to the bator so I could keep an eye on things during the inubation. Some of the air sac did stop moving so much again after a few days in the incubator. Alot of the eggs didnt make it past day 5 - but of the ones that did- eventually the air sac shrunk enough with the moisture loss from the egg that the movement was no longer detectable.

How long do you rest your shipped eggs for? I was going with Storey's Guide, which said to set eggs 2 wks or older right away and let the others rest for a period of time. I have both fresh and older eggs, so I was going to let them come up to room temp and set so that they would develope at the same time. I don't have a seperate hatcher. So, based on what you discribed, my eggs are like the ones you have gotten. The air "bubble" seems intact, but moves when the egg is rotated. So go ahead and set them?

I rest shipped eggs for 12-24 hours before setting them.

Let them sit for 24 hours from the time you got them home before putting them into the bator- but yes- no reason why you cant set them. I had a few eggs that had the air sac floating anywhere over half of the egg once- and 1 of them still hatched. So although you may get a lower hatch rate from shipped eggs- its still worth setting as many of them as you can to increase your chances of a decent hatch.

Okay, I will let them settle. I moved them to a cooler room. Geeze, I've had them for like 2 hours and am already stressing. LOL, and I am not so much the worried type. Well, at least I didn't think so....
