Hello!

I have ONE call duck egg developing in my bator, and so the poor thing would not be lonely I ordered 6 babies from eFowl. The babies that are shipped will be 1-2 days old when they arrive. My questions are: Can I mix them all together right away? Can I do anything special for the shipped babies (food, supplements, vitamins, pro-biotics) to ensure survivability?

Since they will be arriving the last week of May, I am hoping for decent weather temps so the babies do not get too chilled or heated.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

I would put them all together, unless some of the shipped ducks look sick. The shipped duckies won't need anything special unless they had a rough journey, if so, then put sugar or honey in their waterer to perk them up. All the duckies should get extra niacin in the form of brewer's yeast or crushed niacin tablets.

Call ducklings can be fragile as babies, that is why most breeders wait until 3-4 weeks old to start shipping them. I would get some vitamins and electrolytes and add them into their water for the first couple days after you get them.
