I moved from Missouri to Oregon to be closer to family. Hartville is located near Mountain Grove, Mansfield, and Lebanon, and it is a little over an hour from Springfield. It is in the Ozarks. I hope that helps.

Yes it does help. I haven't lived here very long so I'm still learning where stuff is. I was in Lebanon a couple weeks ago to pick up some chicks from Cackle Hatchery. I googled Hartville so now I know where it is!

Consider getting the Cackle Hatchery Surprise some time. I always wanted to, but life got in the way.

Probably not ... this year I ordered Ameraucanas and Black Australorps. The Surprise could be anything, right? Including cockerel(s)?

Read the description in the catalog. It is essentially what they have left at the end of the day. As well as a variety of chickens it may also include ducks or turkeys. They are straight run so I am sure there would be cockerels. There is an old thread on BYC about the Surprise. It is fun to read. See if you can find it.

I'll look for it but mercy, I absolutely do not need nor want any poultry other than chickens! Those kinds of surprises I can do without!
