Not sure what I'm dealing with here. Will of course be soaking and cleaning them off, but the bumps of callus are visible. His legs (hocks mostly?) don't match, the following pictures are the best I could get for now. Lame on left (darker) foot. Doesn't appear to be bumble I don't think, will know when soaked. They don't have a pool at the moment in large part due to weather, so lack of moisture may be a contributing factor. Otherwise I've got no idea what this is. Almost reminds me of something fungal.

Def do some warm Epson salt soaks and redo pics. If it's callus you might want to rub some coconut oil onto his feet in the evening when you lock them up If bumble you'll need some colorless iodine. But lets see what the feet look like once soaked real good.

I soaked them and they looked the same except for being a little cleaner.

It's definitely not necrotic, it's basically just hyperkeratosis that has dirt ground into it, but I've got no idea why. He's not lame because of that, his left hock is very warm so either he sprained it pretty thoroughly, or it's infected, maybe from one of the cuts on his feet. Besides normal ground things (rocks, poky grasses, sticks), their area is free of anything they could hurt their feet on, not sure how he's doing it. They look horrid :hmm

I put some of my homemade body butter on his feet over night, and put some anti-fungal on them today. There are two other threads with this exact same thing here and here. It is a thing, just not overly common it looks like, keeping that in mind, any vet around here would not have a clue what they're looking at either. I have him on doxycycline, hoping to see an improvement soon.

It's Bumblefoot. And BAD Bumblefoot : My orpington duck had this once. But not as bad. As quickly as I noticed,
I whipped out the lavender espom salt and poured it into bowl of lukewarm water. I put down extra straw padding down and watched her quite a bit to make sure she didn't go on rocky hard surfaces like cement. And I kept her in sleeping a few extra hours. Looks like what happend is that some rocks met your ducks feet, but in all this is common in ducks. If it starts swelling or getting way bigger, visit a vet. It may be infection :(

There's no scab, and there doesn't appear to be any kind of pocket of infection, it's just lumps of the normal skin nodules, the exact same as at the tip of the toe. I've never heard of bumble presenting anything like this? He's inside on a bed of straw and getting care now, although he does stand just fine on his gross feet, just not up to using his hock at the moment. Doxycycline is an antibiotic, if that's not effective in helping him kick the bacterial problem, we can try other stuff.

.... how exactly am I supposed to keep them from cutting their little feet on the ground? I feel like I need to get duck booties or something. They love free ranging and foraging, would hate to have to pen them (and they would never let me forget how displeased they are).
