Wondering if anyone has campines and can share their experiences with this breed - expecially their cold hardiness? I live in the middle of NC and normally our winters are not that bad - usually a few nights in the teens and very rarely single digits. This has been a colder than normal winter, with more snow than normal but we still haven't had any single digit nights.

My DH decided they would be a nice addition to our current flock, so I have ordered 2 along with 4 other assorted breeds from MPC to be delivered in April. So, now I'm having 2nd thoughts and wonder if I made a mistake and should change my order?

So anyone out there with campines? I ordered the golden variety.

Campines do just fine in temps below 0 at night with highs in the single digits as long as they have proper shelter. They spend too much time scratching, running around and causing general mischief to get cold.

Oh, thanks so much. now I feel better

. I'm also glad to know they are scrappy - they will need to be in order to eventually hold their own with the existing "big girls".
