Can 2-3 wk old chicks get gape?

Two of my 2-3 week old chicks are yawning repeatedly. Is it possible for a chick this young to get gape worm or are they just adjusting their crop?

Not likely. It usually takes about 2 weeks before gapeworm symptoms appear once infected.
