I was just in marking my 3 week old BO and saw that one of them has a flat comb. Out of 20 of them "it" is the only one. Can this happen? If so, does it mean it is a roo or hen? I can get pictures if i need to. The little buggers are hard to catch right now...teenager faze of "leave me alone".

I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I have to comment on the "teenage stage"!

This is my first flock, they are @ 3wks as well & they are sooo skittish all of the sudden. Plus, they're a lot faster than I anticipated. I make one quick move and they all are peeping, scattering around like I'm about to eat them or something

Hope you get an answer soon in regards to your question.

It should not have a rose comb, but if they came from a hatchery, they very well may have one. I had some Silver Laced Wyandottes that had single combs, pea combs and one with a wacky very odd split comb. Same batch from the hatchery. Coloring was right, just wrong comb

Ok fine i will get a picture..
