A 4 to 5 week old chicken misssing and not trace not even a feather left behind. There was a stray cat that craled out of small hole in the roof that the chicken could not have got to. The other three chickens are fine.

I think a cat could take a chick that age and steal off with it. You would see some remains if the cat ate in situ, but the cat might have carried the chick away and eaten it elsewhere.

If there is a hole in your coop big enough for a cat to enter, you should plug it up ASAP. Anything big enough for a cat is big enough for several other kinds of predators which will eventually find your chickens.

disappearing with out a trace is sometimes a coon.. they will grab and run!

Cats won't eat the feathers...at least that is the case when my cats catch a bird...as the previous poster said..they will pluck the feathers....snakes, raccoons and plenty of other predators will take it and run. Sorry for your loss.....

A cat killed one of mine without even touching them. Just made them go crazy in the coop, I come outside to the noise, open the door, and a cat zooms out and I find a girl dead on the floor with a wobbly neck. I took care of the hole, which was tiny, but I took care of it.
Keep a dog around too..

Could of been a weasel too. They can crawl through holes. I'd be putting wire over the hole or blocking it ASAP.
