can a chicken die half developed even though never getting cold, etc

i had some eggs under my hen billi. out of the six three hatched. the other three.....2 were infertile and the other half developed chicken. What happened????? and can a chicken die inside the egg?

Sadly, yes.

Sometimes that just happens, just like with humans.

Yes, I lost one at about 15 days. Odd.But it happens.

Absolutely. It's nature's way of assuring that only the strong survive to propagate. Frequently these chicks have some abnormality.

it can be caused by a lot of things.. bacteria.. poor nutrition when the hen was laying the eggs.. too high or too low incubation temps.. improper ventilation.. disease.. porous egg shells.. and improper egg turning
