i’ve seen pretty mixed opinions, some say yes if they have enough female ducks and some say absolutely no. what has been y’alls experience with the two? if you had roos did they defend the hens from the drakes?

I think you will have the best luck having frames and ducks and hens and roosters together. The drake will likely be with his ducks jsut fine, and the rooster will keep his hens safe for the most part

I've had 2 bantam mallard drake's and one female for a bit, they were always roaming out with the chickens. We gave one of the drake's to a friend, and it's still the same with the two we still have, the stick to eachother, and mind their own business. The one that went to a friend is only with chickens and he just goes about doing his thing. Probably stick to the ducks when they get them

Mine were fine for a year but then the drake one day decided to go after the chickens and ended up killing them. So I would say no, personally.
