I’m thinking about getting a guard goose for my chickens but I’m worried that it will attack my 11 yr old niece, 10 yr old niece, and 8 yr old nephew when they visit because it will think they’re intruders.

The kids visit, usually, every other weekend but we sometimes get them when their mom needs a break, or has to run errands that she can’t take them with her, or has dr appointments. Will the goose be able to recognize them as friendly even though they aren’t there 24/7?

Yes geese can recognize people. In my experience they are generally non human aggressive when they are not breeding/raising goslings. Their value as flock protectors is limited to being an alarm system. Almost anything that can kill a chicken can kill a goose.

Don't get just one goose. It will be lonely unless you plan to keep it company 24/7.

Geese are very good at recognizing people - also the people they're scared of. If your nieces and nephew all are very calm and patient around the geese, they may develop a friendship. But geese and children don't always mix well.
