Can a Rooster incubate eggs?

Hi guys my hens are starting to lay and I want to raise the eggs but I don't have an incubator, my first thought was to let the hens incubate them but I don't know if they actually will, another thought also occurred to me, I've never actually seen my hens sitting on their eggs, it's always our "King" silkie rooster who sits on them. Every morning/night we go in the coup to clean up/feed/water/collect eggs our biggest rooster is always sitting on the eggs and won't even let the hens near them. So is it possible that he could incubate the eggs for 21+/- days until they hatch? And if he does would the hens care for the chicks afterwords?

It is very rare for a rooster to 'go broody', but it has, on very rare occasions, happened. Does he sit 24/7, all day every day?

I don't know if he does 24/7 or not we take turns taking care of them, I personally have seen him either sitting on them or standing in front of them attempting to prevent me from collecting the eggs but my family says they've only seen him guarding them not actually sitting on them... I know he doesn't let the hens sit on them, they lay them but after that he takes over and won't let them near them..

Oh my god I can't believe 2016 was 8 years ago! Do you have any updates on this? Did anyone sit or did they hatch later?
