I just hatched 4 chicks of a test hatch on my newer Roo. He is the only roo I have and is an EE. I was told he was araucana from the lady I got him from but was informed otherwise on here(I was pretty sure he wasn't anyways! lots of misconception there). He has a tail ("sparse because he isn't supposed to have one" is what the lady told me.)

So one new chick doesn't have a tail like the rest!

My last hatch I did was eggs from this same lady before she gave me her roo. He was the only one in her flock that could have been the 'rumpless' and I got 1 rumpless chick.

So I'm wondering can an EE that has araucana blood and has a tail pass the rumpless gene to his chicks?!!

Well, there is a change that the rumpless gene was passed from the Araucana bloodline. I believe this is what has happened in your case. With Araucanas, what breeders are looking for is a rumpless, tufted chicken. And if you breed two rumpless, there is a fatal gene in the mix that will make the chicks die in the egg. So a breeder will look to breed a tailed araucana with a rumpless, tufted araucana. Lucky you! You've got a rumpless chick--whether it's pure araucana or not, that's pretty neat!
