Can any of you gardeners identify this grub for me?

We found over 2 dozen of them when busting up an old rotting tree stump. They were quarter to half dollar sized and mostly in the damp part of the logs. We're in Ohio (zone 5). I fed them to the chickens who were very happy to have them. There were so many my 5 girls actually started to snub them LOL.

Get those girls eating...they look like japanese beetle larvae to me!

We've had japanese beetle grubs and they're bigger then those and look a bit differently. Also they were only in the tree not in the dirt.

Those look like and are the size of Junebugs that we had in Wisconsin growing up.
Good fishing bait for our lake at the cabin. Cought lots of largemouth bass on them.
I was always grossed out when the Junebigs hatched out, they would plink against the bedroom window at night.
