I have a 6 month old Buff Brahma hen.
And she is very loving and will hop on my lap and never get off.
So for one thing I know she doesn't "dislike me"
Since is the lowest of the "pecking order" when I am around she runs and hops on my lap to keep the others from pecking at her.
But one thing is...
Out of all the times I've snuggled with her she has only bit me 3 times on the lips (and I would bleed.)

Does this mean she doesn't like me to face her?
Because I don't shove my face to her face.
She will look at me... Raise her head.... Stare....*SNAP* really really quickly!
I don't know why she does this...
Is she telling me that I'm the one that's at the bottom of the pecking order or something?
Or is this just a weird chicken thing..?

She probably just doesn't want you in her face. The majority of animals do not enjoy having anything or one near their face.

The thing was..
I wasn't in her face.
She came up to me and stare then raised her neck as far as it would go...
Then... *SNAP!*

When animals face each other eye to eye it often can be interpreted as being challenged. She could be attacking you because she believe's your challenging her. She could always just be a biter. I have two ganders who enjoy biting people without any justification.

Were you smiling or talking? My chickens are always very interested in my teeth. I usually have them at a safe distance from my face because if they see my teeth, they attempt to peck at them, often missing and getting my lip. I guess it's the fact that they are white. Mine birds will peck at anything white, be it a rock, a piece of plastic, a paper plate.. the list goes on

Try not to look her in the eye.... It's considered a threat to most every animal. And when she reaches up to peck you, push her off of your lap to tell her that you are boss, not her.
