Hi,
These are 4 different chicks. I’m having a hard time differentiating between any off the wings. Please help if you can. Thank you!

You can only figure out gender when they are older, not when they are chicks. When they are older there are signs that they are female or male.
Great info. Thank you for your help.
Are white silkies born a fawn color?
I have black and fawn. Nothing yellow.

Well that explains it lol.
How can I gender?
Silkies can take longer sometimes to tell. Generally you look for comb development after 8 weeks, and by 3 months you can start to see some other traits like rooster feathers coming in. Shape of the crest can help too. Sometimes with silkies you have to wait for an egg or a crow.

Black and fawn sounds like either a buff or a partridge color.

My two snow white Silkies were hatched buff color and gray mottled color. So yes they may end up being white. You can tell when their wing feathers come in. Partridge usually have a chipmunk stripe at hatch but not always. Silkies are notoriously difficult to gender identify. I would post them when they are at least two months if not older.😊
