Can anyone give me ideas on why my duck died?

One of the four mallards died a day or two ago.... I'm kind of distressed and would like some input on why this might have happened, so that mabye next time (if there is a next time) we can hep the duck before it dies.


So the duck was about 2 and 1/2 months old, Mallard, and he had been acting weak, but after we hand fed it a little, it would be okay, and we would put it back in the pen, I don't think he froze...none of the other ducks died.

It really could be so many reasons. It may have injested something- or even just had some interanal problem since it hatched. Without a vet looking at it fror testing or opening the little one up- it would be very difficult to say exactly what the cause was.

Okay could a duck die of vitamin E deficency? we think that's what he had, but he died before we could get those liquid tablets that are sopposed to cure it... ah well it was in pain anyway... it kinda deserved to die, if you know what I mean.
