Can anyone give me some knowledge about my chicks?

Can anyone please tell me what type of chickens these are? How old do they look? Can you tell if any of them are hens or roosters yet? Any info you can give me about these babies will be appreciated!

I'd guess they're about 4 weeks old give or take a week. In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th pic I see a female Barred Rock (the cockerels have more white to them) and a probable Easter Egger. The EE will take a while to confirm male or female.

FYI "pullets" are female chickens under 1 year old and "cockerel" are male chickens under 1 year. They aren't called hen and rooster until they're older.

I don't have any experience with the other breeds but I'm sure you'll get a reply from someone who does.

Do they look old enough to be outside in the coop? I kept them indoors for the first couple of weeks, but it was just getting to be too messy to keep up with. I have been putting a brooder lamp on at night though it has only gotten down to the 70’s. I also turn on a little fan in the day time since it has been in the 90’s here in North Texas.

They also don’t know to go into the coop at sundown like our other hens did, so I have been scooping them up and locking them in at night. Hopefully they will eventually learn that is where they sleep?

Most people recommend waiting until they are fully feathered before they leave the brooder. Yours still look like they have a little baby fuz. But personally, I think you're fine. Sounds like you're doing everything right. Just watch for signs of them getting chill and huddling together.

Definitely keep manually putting them in at night until they learn. It may take some time for them to understand that's their safe place to sleep.

As for the brooder lamp, just make sure there's no fire hazard and that it's properly secured so it doesn't fall on the bedding.
