Does anyone know of anyone close to me in Lexington mi who has purchased, raised an sold/traded off some or one of their rare Indonesian chicken(s)? An if so possibly where they were purchased from? I ended up with this beautiful purebred in a trade bout 2 months ago. He was suppose to be a hen an last Sunday started crowing , so that I believe puts him at bout 6 months old now. He is pure black skin, inside mouth, waddle an cone do have a slight mulberry tint in sun, legs an nails are black, black beak an all. Beautiful black feathers with some having a metallic green an purple Hugh to them in light. I named him Onyx as a hen but still fits as a sweet gorgeous rooster. I also received in trade a beautiful sweet black curly like frizzle bantam silky rooster bout 7 months old now. Would love to know where these guys exactly came from an try get some pure bred hens for them.

Your exotic guy appears to be an Ayam Cemani. You might be able to do a Google search or even search BYC for Cemani breeders. The high quality ones are NOT cheap. Some hatcheries have them, too, I think, but only sell them straight run. Cochins you can find pretty much all over the place.

Thank you ill search an see what our site brings up. He's sweet to so who ever had raised him did a excellent job. I love seeing all the beautiful chicken breeds people have. I myself have Jersey giants an Olive egger hens we raised from wk old, Isa brown, Australop, Braham, Americana cross, Wyandotte lace an Partridge hens. Then my Buff rooster I raised from wk old, black silky frizzle an Indonesian black rooster.
