We recently lost 8 chickens to a fisher cat and so my dad wants to try to incubate the rest of our hens eggs.

so a few questions.

We have a few eggs that have been left at room temp for 2 days ( 65-70) will they still be good for a incubator? or are they bad now?
We have a few eggs that have been rinsed off and been sitting for a few days are they good still?

Now the incubator we have an old cooler we can use what one would be best cause my dad would rather not have to many holes left in the cooler..

please answer.

The eggs should all be fine as long as they are fertile. I am assuming you have a rooster?? The washed eggs are a gamble but some people on here wash their eggs before incubating and do fine. I would put them all in. What's the worst that can happen? I don't understand your question on the incubator? Could you be more specific?

You can hold eggs up to 14 days with no loss in hatchability (55-75F). Washed eggs are not a problem so long as they were washed in warm/hot water.

yes i have a rooster. well i was just wondering if there is anything special for the incubator. i believe we have everything, i was just wondering if there is anything else we may need to know before we incubate anything that may surprise us, im going to be on this form alot over the next month for everything.

When holding eggs for no longer than 10 days it is not necessary to turn them. Some folks put them in cartoon on their sides, but that's all.
