I have 2 Chinese geese I raised from babies I bought at the feed store. I got the a small child's pool when they got big enough to use it. Well they have outgrown it and my son in law is wanting to build them a pond. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep it clean? We all love these geese and spoil them rotten! I still put them up at night.

Hi,welcome to BYC I'm new to and we just live south of Austin so we are close. I just received two little Dewlap Toulouse goslings and I was wondering the same thing. My Husband and I were just talking about that last night. I was thinking if you had a big tub it could be pumped out but that would use a lot of water, so will be interest to see what everyone says about that

Hi Donna4200! Yes we are close! I bought my babies in Feb at NB Feed. I always get myself into trouble every year there! Love those babies. Mine are still using the wading pool I got them. It does take a lot of water. I change it at most every other day. I was lucky when I picked them out to get a gander and a goose. I hope somebody can help me with any ideas. Maybe something will come along we both can use. :)

Okay here is a thread from duck section but it is step by step on building a pond and it will work fro geese and this poster still comes on BYC so you can pick her brain about how well it's doing and so forth. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/496237/building-a-pond-step-by-step-mostly-complete-post71/20
