He's a mix. Do you happen to know what color his skin is?![]()
I'm not sure what color his skin is. He just developed a nasty attitude so getting close to him is difficult. I'll try to upload a picture from his hatching. Perhaps you can tell the color from that. Thank you. He's a mix. Do you happen to know what color his skin is?![]()
Dorkings have 5 toes too.Dorking
I've heard silkie from someone else too. I wasI’m guessing silkie crosses with something possibly an EE?
Thank youMixed. I don't think it is just a two way cross there. While there are other breeds that have black skin Silkie is most common. The beard could be from an EE or Ameraucana though again there are other bearded breeds. Even some Silkies have beards. Those legs look really short too, the only breed I know off the top of my head with short legs is Dorking. Whether those breeds are actually in your cockerel I have no idea. I know there are others here that know breeds and genetics way better than I do.
Thank you and yes, I do believe his egg was greenish. He seems to be black skinned, and if my phone is displaying color correctly he hatched from a greenish egg.
So we have silkie and EE.
The only mystery is what made the EE given the dwarfish legs i'd guess dorking or faverolles was in the crossing.![]()
I do believe all those breeds are mild mannered so I'm not sure where is nasty attitude is coming from all of a sudden. All my chickens have been pampered from day one. Any suggestions on how to get him back to the sweet boy he use to be?He seems to be black skinned, and if my phone is displaying color correctly he hatched from a greenish egg.
