Can broody mothers raise babies as a group ?

Just a question for the future when I have more chickens. Can mothers raise their young together? I was thinking I could build a little coop that has several large nests in it, for each mother to brood her eggs and then when they hatch they can all sleep together as a family, but during the day all the mothers and babies would be able to access an outdoor run, were they of course would mingle together. Would this work? Or would one mom try to take everyone else's babies or something ?

It could work depending on your chickens. Some chickens will try to steal the chicks of other hens or will injure the chicks of other hens. I would base it off of the temperament of your chickens. I have a few chickens who are always trying to steal chicks
