I currently have my 19 chickens and 4 ducks seperated. I am thinking about the coldest part of winter. I can only heat the chicken coop. I have no way to heat the duck house. It is my plan to let the ducks and chickens have run of my 2500 sq ft garden togther all winter and then seperate them again in the spring. I had just planned on seperate coop/house at night. We generally have about 1 to 2 weeks of temps that are below zero. The chickens will be nice and toasty but I am worried about the ducks.

This is good to know! My ducks are in the rabbitat with the quail. Little duck picks on the bun but the ducks do a good job cleaning up after the quail and chasing flies. If i moved the ducks in with the chickens, I could lock them up at night again AND make room for some banties in the rabbitat! Poor bun.
