Can Chickens squeeze under 7" gate?

I want to create an area where my tortoise can have access but not my chickens. Can chickens squeeze under a gate 7 inches from the ground?

Yep, 7 inches is pretty much just leaving the gate open unless your birds are 4 feet tall.

I can't think of any way to do it since chickens are much more nimble than a tortoise. Anything he/she could get thru is going to be SUPER easy for a chicken. I wonder if their shells conduct electricity.....I assume yes..... If not, a strand of electric at the top of his shell height MIGHT sort of maybe stop some chickens.... But it they learn to duck down then nope.

I'm getting ready to make my auto chicken door 7" x 7" to keep my dogs out. What is the smallest height your tortoise can fit through? You could make a small tunnel and go with the smallest height possible.
