I have an established flock of 20, and after reading about all of the weird diseases on here, I would be afraid to buy anymore chickens for fear I would introduce a disease. I did however buy fertilized eggs from someone. Can any contagious diseases travel into the egg, into the chick and then onward to my existing flock?

MG can be passed through to a chick via the egg. I've read it's only
a 10% chance.

The positive side of this is that chicks will show signs of MG quickly. So,
as long as you keep the chicks separate fro your other birds for 30 days
the risk of infection in low.
