So on this journey of doing my research to own chickens and ducks.
I have always wanted chickens and ducks. My pap had them when I was growing up. But can I put them in the same coop? Or do they need their own coops. Still in the design phase of the coop. And we plan to get our coop built before getting any chickens or ducks.

I myself and lots other on here raise chickens and ducks together with no problems at all, A few things you should know first. Ducks and chickens have very different anatomy's, If a drake mates with a chicken it could possibly be fatal to the hen, That's why its very important to keep a correct ratio of each species, a good guideline might be one drake for every five ducks and for chickens one rooster for every twelve hens.

They can be housed in the same coop, provide a roost for the chickens and the ducks will just sleep on the floor, you'll want good drainage in your run or the ducks will turn it into a muddy mess in no time and create a harmful environment for the chickens. Ducks have a hard time with ramps that's why its recommended to make little or no ramp into the coop, besides that chicken coop and duck coops are nearly the same.
