I have 4-5 week old ducks that are getting pretty big for their inside setup. The duck house is all ready outside and it’s completely covered. (Air can get in of course so they can breathe!) the lowest temper is going to be 42 degrees Fahrenheit tonight but I have a heat lamp I put inside of it. Are they able to sleep in the house with the lamp on without them being too cold over night?

I keep my ducks with a heat lamp at all times and they seem to do just fine! When the weather gets hotter here in NY around July-August I will sometimes take it out so they do not over heat, but I would suggest keeping one in the coop if you live in a colder area.

I live in New Hampshire so it gets cold here as it does in NY. Thank you for your feedback! I’ll put them outside with a heat lamp tonight :)

If the coop is draft-free and the temp isn't below freezing the will be fine, of course, with your temps a heat lamp will be needed, make sure the lamp is very secure.
