Can Guinea's and Chickens Be Raised Together ?

Definately yes. I purchased some Guinea keets and have raised them with some siklie chicks, cochin bantam chicks and some standard chicks. They all are living happily together. Interesting thing. All of my research on BYC and on other sites talked about how loud Guineas were. But mine are not noisey at all and when they are free ranging, they stay with the chickens. They don't seem to go off on their own. When I seperated them from the chickens, then I heard some really loud Guineas.

Here is a picture of them in the brooder.

Thank you both for the quick reply. And thanks for the pictures. They were great !

I am very excited now !!!! I'm going to order some guinea Keets right now !!!!

This website is awesome because of people like you !!!

You do want to raise them together if you can. SpeckledHen had a bad experience with her Guineas ganging up on her chickens.

I believe my DS's Guinea thinks he/she IS a chicken...It has so far been raised with a whole flock of different breeds and fits right in.

ETA: Bluedog420 gave the keet to my DS along with a game chick and 2 Millie chicks. DS and DD are determined to tame the Guinea.

I've heard that if a guinea decides not to like a particular chicken that the lot of them will gang up on it and kill it...

Food for thought...
