Can I bring my outdoor doves inside?

I’m planning on getting a couple doves, and I would like to keep them outside. I’m reading that they shouldn’t experience big temperature changes. Does this mean that I cannot bring my doves inside to pet them and hang out with them? Has anyone done this and not had a problem with it?
I would hate to not be able to play with them in the winter months, as it gets pretty cold here in Illinois. TIA.

I definitely wouldn't bring them inside if it's colder than 40 degrees out, because of the drastic change in temperature. It should be fine any other time though. I had doves that would fly inside any time we had the door open because they were that friendly :) Good luck with yours!

Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear that
