Can I clip the tip on my rooster's beak?

It seems really long, and I'm wondering if that's one reason he's pulling the feathers off the hen's heads. Does this sound plausible and does it sound like a good idea to clip the tip off? Should I use my dog's nail clippers? Will it hurt the cock?

You can clip it, but I prefer to file them as I am afraid I will take too much off and make the beak start to bleed.

Just a regular nail file. It does take some time to get it filed down, so you may want to have someone hold the Roo while you file

Other than that, it's pretty easy.

Do you think this might work for my SLW who has a feather-picking habit? I have her wearing a pinless peeper, but she has a really hard time seeing around it and has consequently lost a lot of weight from not eating much. (because she can't see too well...lol)
