Can I give a chicken a capsule?

Someone on the FB forum told me I could just put a capsule down the chicken's throat. I did and not her breath seems labored.

Uh yeah...it's easy to send it down the wrong "pipe" as the trachea opening is pretty large in the back of a chickens throat.

I'm not sure what do to other than look down her throat and try to clear the obstruction. You shouldn't believe everything on FB, and you should open the capsule contents and place in mash.

Sorry your hen is having troubles now.

A whole capsule yes, can be given to a chicken. I've done so many times.
The esophagus is on the rightside of the neck next to the trachea(Hole in the middle). Never put anything in the middle hole.
