hi i want a cockerel for my hens (my hens are only chicks at the moment 1 week old) shall i get a cokerel now or wait till there old enough to go out ?

I would wait so your cockerel won't be lonely. You can pen them next to each other until they grow up. Some cockerels can be trusted with babies and some not.

I think one of the key things you not considering is yyou may already have one in the flock of chooks you have and may not know it yet
