I finally just said, forget it and decided not to worry too much about the chicken ramps to the roost bars yet, so I filled the coop with pine shavings and IN THEY WENT!! I'll keep them in their coop for a few days, and then open the pop door so they can enjoy their run. MAN.. this has taken FOREVER and I'm so glad I'm 95% done. The chicks don't care about that other 5%, so I'll leave the chicken ramps until my husband gets home. He can do it.
Now... I can begin taking back my living room... and get rid of the chicken smell. UGH!! Anyway, I was just so eggcited (ha ha) that I had to share. Pictures will ensue!
I so know how you feel. We had the chicks in the house FAR too long for me. We found someone to build us a coop. Well...poor guy got sick and then had surgery. Meanwhile chicks were getting bigger..and bigger..and BIGGER . Finally, my husband became "inspired" and built them a coop. It really turned out well. I am very proud of what he did. All from material we had on hand.
Anyway, when those chicks were out of the house and IN their coop, I felt like have a "chicks are in the coop" party.lol
