can i leave chicks alone for 14 hours?

Hello,

I should be getting 4, day old chicks and 2 ducklings in on either Wednesday or Thursday. It turns out I have to work on Saturday from 10 am to midnight and all of my roommates happen to be leaving this weekend. I can't yet find anyone to check on them. If I feed/clean and whatnot before I leave should they be ok by themselves for 14 hours until i get home? I can still cancel my order, but then I may have to wait another week or 2.

They should be fine as long as they have plenty of food and water.

Oh yes. They will be fine. I had a family emergency 3 days after I got 12 chicks. I put in extra food and water, and used marbles in the water so they couldn't fall in. I had to be gone 4 days. I was worried sick! They did just fine. So 14 hours is nothing. Relax!
