Can I make my roo want my attention?

Diffie is gentle and calm. He will let me come up to pet him and likes eating if I hold a little bowl of food or water up to him while holding him. He will not eat from my hand tho. He doesn't walk up to me. He just turns and stays still when I reach out to pet him or pick him up. My old birds used to come up and sit on my feet when they wanted me. They would follow me around and when I went outside just to sit on my steps I had 2 that would come wit on my lap! Can I make this one the same way?? Or is it just different for different birds?

Are you sure you want to? How old is he? Doing such things as feeding him from your hand can cause familiarity based aggression. When he doesn't walk up to you, it is his way of respecting your space. I would keep it that way.
