I have 15 RIR and 5 NH that all hatched the same time in the same bator and they are now 1 week 2 days old I have 9 FCBM that are 4 days old and I have them seperated now. I have read that you don't want to mix chickens from different places at first keep them seperated for a while but did not know if this applied to eggs that I hatched from different places. Hoping I can put them together since I have gone a little over board with this egg hatching and I am going to need more room. I have turkey eggs that will hatch on three different days I have candled 20 so far and had 4 with no signs of life the rest were good and I have 8 that were to early for a begginer like me to check so I will wait a few more days to check them. And then I know go ahead and

I have 40 Quail eggs due to hatch Sat. I'm going to need to build another box, wife thinks I'm crazy but I find myself watching them and talking to them and they are fun to watch the first hatch have just started to learn that they have wings. And I find myself here everday reading the questions and answers learning from all of you.
Thanks everyone, and God Bless

The problem with putting them together is the potential for the bigger chicks to pick on the smaller ones. You can try putting them together at night in the dark, so they wake up together. Just watch them closely so you don't have a tragedy.

Hello, I Put All Of My Chicks In One Place With No Problems.I Have Three Bators Going At Full Speed.Sometimes The Older Chicks Will Runover The Smaller Ones When Thay Are Running. Its The Older Chickens That You Have To Watch.

I put my 3 wk olds and 4 wk olds together at the age of 2 wks and 3 wks old, I just started out letting them outside or in large pens together for larger amounts of time eventually they didn't even know the difference. The only problem I've had recently is a few 3wkers are picking on all the chicks even the big ones

but I think it's just my dumb birds.
