So... I am very new at this. Just had a thoroughly unsuccessful hatch with an incubator (two hatched yesterday on day 22 and one is pipping now on day 23, no hope for the other 9 I think

).

I'm going to order some mixed brown egg layers from a hatchery online and can get them early next week. Can I mix these week olds with those day olds at that point or do I need two separate brooders?

Thanks in advance for the info!

you can go up to about 4 weeks if you have gentle breeds, some of the flightier birds 2 to3 weeks, when you mix just watch them for a few days and make sure there is no bulling going on.

Wonderful ... you just made my day <grin>

I'm so excited for the arrivals. The two that made it are doing well today, I have no idea what they are yet, one is light yellow and the other is brown striped. The one that is is working its way out finally appears to be making some more progress ... <fingers crossed> So nerve wracking ...
