Can I move a few chickens to weed my landscape stone? (Picture below)

I am new to this chicken thing and was wondering if it would be ok to place chickens periodically on my landscape stone to munch on some weeds in a portable fenced in area?

This is what the stone looks like. I have HUGE amounts of it around the house and the fabric beneath it is old and we have TONS of weeds on top of the rocks. Would it be safe for the chickens? Would they be ok with walking on these rocks a few hours a day? Thanks!!!!~Debbie

They should be able to handle walking on those stones. Whether they will do enough of the weeding to be worth it depends on the what the weeds are. Remember they will scratch those stones around and can very easily dig through the stones to the fabric.

Yeah I thought of that too. I guess I'll just have to see if they go crazy and pick at the fabric rather than the gazillion weeds lol
