Hi, this has probably been asked before but I need info again please. When can I put my 4 week old EE chickers out into the coop? They look mostly feathered out and are doing pretty well. I was going to have them in a good sized wire rabbit cage till they are older and can be turned loose with my older chicks. The nights are probably around 50-55 and a little warmer sometimes. I wasn't going to use a heat lamp or ? I don't want to take any chances with them getting chilly so I'd like your opinion. Whaty ya think?
Thanks!

Hi! I'm actually only 6 weeks into raising chickens at all, so don't this as "sage" advice, but I would wait just one more week. They would probably be fine now, and just cuddle together at night (photo op!) but would most likely be more comfortable with one more week.

I put my bantams out last month at 4 weeks & it was still in the 50-60s at night. I did have a heat lamp on for about 3 nights, but was going away, so I discontinued it before 5 weeks. My 25 did fine and are now almost 10 weeks.

I had mine in the coop at 3 weeks with a heat lamp. They did fine, they were much happier out there then in the box in the house. So long as they're warm and still draft free I think you're fine.

Thanks!
