Two days ago I was bathing a sick hen and noticed scabs near her vent as well as a few mites crawling on her. I immediately began treating the flock and coop with Elector PSP (diluted spray - 2 tsp/gallon) and deep cleaned the coop as well and disposed of bedding. This morning was holding the sick hen and noticed mites on my shirt and skin after setting her down. The first application I sprayed her very liberally all over, but thoroughly soaked her vent area and under wings. My question is will it hurt if I reapply or do a dip with the Elector PSP again today?Everything I've read says wait 14 days, but I'm afraid we'll lose her by then. Does it take more than two days for the mites to die? The ones that I found on me were still crawling albeit slowly. I should say they definitely appear to be mites as they are super small. They were hard to identify even with a magnifying glass. If I had to guess they are northern fowl mites as they don't appear red and were found on her during the day. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
