We have a bullied, sweet Barred Cochin hen. She is now issolated because we can't figure out who is the bully. I'm wondering if I can put two day old baby cochin chicks under her at night, so she can raise them as her own flock?

Is she broody? If not, then absolutely no, she will not care for them.
She stays in her coop all day, all fluffed out. She's not laying eggs however. I'm not sure how to verify she's broody, but she checks the boxes for broody. She's only a year old so maybe too young? Ideas? Thanks

when get around her does she growl

Put a couple eggs in there and see if she sits on them or not.

If a chicken is broody, it will sit on the eggs 24/7, only leaving once or twice a day to eat / drink / bathe / take a huge poop. If that’s not happening, she’s not broody. I have plenty of chickens that are possessive over their eggs but not broody. When you say “she checks the boxes for broody” what does that mean?
