I am planning to have two small families of American Gamefowl to go with my mixed flock. I am hatching a bunch of eggs and I intend to keep two roosters. I would like to free range the Gamefowl, but obviously I can't let both roosters roam around at the same time. Does anyone know if it would be better to free range one group part of the day and the other another part of the day, or let one out all day and the next group out the next day? I know the chickens like routine, but I can't quite figure out the best way to go about this.
One of the reasons I'm getting Gamefowl is so that I can free range. My mixed flock is led by an RIR hen and they bantams Cochin roo. If I let them out of their run, they wouldn't last five minutes. I know that Gamefowl are smarter and better at finding food, but having to make sure that one rooster is completely separate from the other is a bit of a challenge.
