Can I sneak a few extra eggs under hen?

I have a hen that I think started sitting today. She has been on her nest since daylight this morning, it's 6 pm and she has not came off the nest. She has about 8 eggs under her. We have another hen that has layed 14 and still has not decided to start sitting. Can I sneak a few eggs under her with out causing her to stop sitting? I would like to hatch a few from the other hen as well since the hens are different breeds. But, I don't want to risk her quitting her eggs.

wait till after dark. then try not to disturb her too much. should be ok.

I've broken a broody before when I put them under her so now I just put them in front of her and let her decide if she wants them. They've always taken them. Just be careful not to get bit when you offer them to her! Ouch!
